In a notebook found in 2003 by artist Jonathas de Andrade (b. Brazil 1982) in the trash, an anonymous narrator tells about love, conflicts with work and everyday intimate reflections during the late 1970's in Recife. Jonathas de Andrade edited excerpts of that journal with photographs from Alcir Lacerda, from the Fundacao Joaquim Nabuco and himself, along with homemade photos of personal collections. The images depict the development occurred on Recife in 1960: different angles of the city in the decades of 1950 and 1970, modernist semi-abandoned buildings documented between 2008 and 2009, and beach scenes, highlighting the tropical characteristics and the desire of the city. The installation of the same name that originated this artist book, was exhibited in 2009 in the Gallery Vermelho, in Sao Paulo, it participate also in the exhibitions of the 7th Bienal do Mercosul (2009), the 12th Bienal de Istambul (2011) and the 2nd Trienal do New Museum: the Ungovernables (2012), and later was acquired for the permanent collection of the Tate Collection, in London.
