Marc Lagrange (°1957 Kinshasa) zette in de jaren negentig zijn loopbaan als ingenieur stop om zich met passie op de fotografie te storten. Zijn favoriete onderwerp bleek al gauw " de vrouw". In zijn eerste fotosessies liet hij zich gewillig inspireren door het werk van Helmut Newton en vooral Peter Lindbergh. Marc ontpopte zich tot een modefotograaf met een niet te evenaren eigen stijl, filmisch en vlijmscherp. Hij verzoent de beeldtaal van regisseurs als Wong Kar-Wai met de verfijnde melancholie die de foto's van New Yorker Philip-Lorca diCorcia domineert. Marc slaagt er altijd in om het mooiste uit een model te halen, om de pure schoonheid te tonen die in elke vrouw schuilt. Hij specialiseert zich in opnamen op grootformaat film (20x25 cm) met een technische camera, waarbij alle details evenveel aandacht krijgen. Terwijl de opdrachten elkaar in snel tempo opvolgen, werkt Marc in zijn sfeervolle studio - in het karkas van een voormalige meubelfabriek in het centrum van Antwerpen - onverstoorbaar verder aan zijn persoonlijke werk. His favourite subject quickly turned out to be women and in his first work he was unashamedly inspired by the work of Helmut Newton and - especially - Peter Lindbergh. Marc worked hard and soon developed a unique personal style as a fashion photographer, razor sharp as well as cinematic. His photos combine the imagery of directors such as Wong Kar-Wai and the distinguished melancholic style of the elaborated photographs of New York's Philip-Lorca diCorcia. Marc always gets the best out of his models and is dedicated to exposing the pure beauty that inhabits all women. Today Marc prefers using big plates (8x10 inch) that guarantee him the sharpness and attention to detail he aims for. With one commission following another at top speed, Marc continued working at his personal work in his stylish studio - a former furniture factory in the city centre of Antwerp.
