Meertalige publicatie: NL-ENG-DU-FR. The book explores the role of industrial design in the Netherlands in the 1950s, based on the conviction that a good product must be both functional and aesthetic ("function and form"). Under the auspices of the Instituut voor Industriële Vormgeving (IIV), it connects designers, manufacturers, and consumers, demonstrating the interrelationships between product development, industrial policy, and design culture in the Netherlands. It includes illustrations, examples of Dutch products, analyses of design processes, and focuses on the role of the designer in a changing society.
