Taschen's anniversary edition of one of the most famous botanical works ever published The Book of Plants is a magnificent plate book featuring the flora of the largest German garden of its time. Under the guidance of Basilius Besler a team of engravers meticulously transformed drawings of living plants and specimens into copperplate engravings. Although the original garden was destroyed during the war a few hand-colored editions survive. This facsimile is organized by seasons and showcases a vast variety of flowers and plants that would otherwise have been lost.
