This volume is the richly illustrated catalogue of the exhibition held at the Museo d'arte della Svizzera italiana (MASI) in Lugano from 29 May to 15 August 2016. Curated by Elio Schenini and Christoph Doswald, it presents over three hundred works drawn from the Annette and Peter Nobel Collection, exploring the artistic dialogue with printed news media from Cubism and early 20th-century avant-gardes through to contemporary art. The catalogue offers insightful essays and critical annotations that address how newspapers and printed matter have functioned as both material support and conceptual reference for artists across visual media-painting, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture, and installation.
