This extraordinary book-object was handcrafted by Willy De Backere and exists only in 2 copies, both signed by Willy De Backere. This is copy 2. "Uitgevoerd in het voorjaar 2000 in 2 exemplaren. Dit is N° 2. De Backere, Willy." This fold-out book object exists of 3 parts. The first part contains 51 pp. of plain text, the last part contains the same text but printed backwards and in mirror view. The central movable part exists of a cardboard passe-partout with a mirror on both sides so that each text can be viewed through a mirror. This amazing book-object creates not only a new and intimate dimension for this famous theaterpiece, it also has an amazing self-reflecting effect on the reader. In 1999 this play was performed by the famous Belgian theatre company Rosas with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker as director. This performance, titled "I said I", may have inspired Willy De Backere to present this captivating theatre text in a special and intimate way in this unique book object.
