The Heiltsuk Nation lies at the center of the Northwest Coast over 6,000 square miles of islands, inlets, lakes, mainland, and outer coasts of what is now referred to as the central coast of British Columbia. In this geographically diverse area, the Heiltsuk developed a complex culture in which ceremonialists, canoe makers, and artists were greatly influential.
